    SEE ALSO...

Katanin p80 B1 Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Katanin p80 B1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Katanin p80 B1 antibody (C-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Katanin p80 B1 plays a crucial role in microtubule dynamics, which are essential for various cellular processes, including cell division and intracellular transport. Specifically, Katanin p80 B1 is part of a heterodimeric complex that severs microtubules in an ATP-dependent manner, facilitating reorganization of microtubule arrays and release of microtubules from the centrosome after nucleation. This function is vital for maintaining proper cellular architecture and ensuring accurate chromosome segregation during mitosis. The Katanin complex consists of a 60 kDa subunit (Katanin p60 A1), which is responsible for the severing action, and an 80 kDa accessory protein (Katanin p80 B1), which targets the complex to the centrosome, highlighting the importance of both subunits in microtubule regulation and cellular function.
