Hemogen Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Hemogen in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Hemogen, also known as hemopoietic gene protein or erythroid differentiation-associated gene protein, is a 484 amino acid nuclear protein encoded by the human gene HEMGN. Anti-Hemogen antibody (D-4) plays a crucial role in studying the regulation of hematopoietic precursor cells, which are essential for blood cell formation. Hemogen is predominantly expressed in hematopoietic tissues such as bone marrow, testis, thymus, and in various malignancies including non-Hodgkin lymphoma and leukemia. Expression is particularly notable in CD34+ cells and the K-562 leukemia cell line, where Hemogen is involved in differentiation processes. Hemogen monoclonal antibody (D-4) has helped reveal that Hemogen is down-regulated during megakaryocytic differentiation in K-562 cells, indicating potential roles in lineage commitment and cellular differentiation. Additionally, Hemogen can be up-regulated in normal peripheral blood mononuclear cells by mitogens, highlighting involvement in hematopoietic signaling pathways. Hemogen (D-4) antibody serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying hematopoiesis and related disorders, providing insights into molecular mechanisms governing blood cell development and function.
