What is meant by raised against Gas/olf? Is it that the peptide sequence used is identical between two different Ga isoforms and thus the antibody targets the same epitope?

I received this antibody (sc-55545) yesterday, and it just says that it has to be kept in 4°C. Do we need to add something inside the tube (like glycerol as for some other antibodies) to better conserve the antibody or is it fine like it is at 4°C ?

Thank you for your question. There is no need to add anything to the antibody, please just store it at 4˚C and use as directed. It will be fine if stored properly at 4˚C.

I had a aliquot of this antibody (sc55545) lot #G1116 and I want to know whats is it expiration date.

Thank you for your question. We do not characterize expiration dates for our research antibodies. They are warrantied for one year from the date of purchase. However, when stored properly at 4C they can continue to be viable for much longer than the one year warranty period.

Can Gα s/olf (A-5): sc-55545 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, Gα s/olf (A-5): sc-55545 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
