    SEE ALSO...

CRBP I Antibody (F3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects cellular retinol-binding protein I (CRBP I) in mouse, rat, human, and bovine samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-CRBP I antibody (F3) recognizes a protein crucial for cellular uptake and transport of retinol, the alcoholic form of vitamin A, which is vital for numerous biological processes including cell growth, differentiation, and vision. CRBP I (F3) monoclonal antibody targets a protein primarily located in the cytoplasm, characterized by a unique structure composed of ten antiparallel β-strands forming a β-barrel, encapsulating the retinol molecule, along with two α-helices that seal the ends of the barrel. This structural configuration allows CRBP I to solubilize and detoxify retinol, facilitating transport within the cytoplasm and ensuring availability for conversion into retinoic acid, the active form of vitamin A. CRBP I is expressed in various human tissues, including the ovary, adrenal and pituitary glands, and testis, with expression being modulated by transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ). CRBP I′s interaction with retinol and derivatives underscores an importance in maintaining vitamin A homeostasis and supporting essential physiological functions.
