CHCHD4 Antibody (C-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CHCHD4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CHCHD4 (C-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CHCHD4 protein, also known as MIA40, is a 142 amino acid protein characterized by one coiled-coil-helix-coiled-coil-helix domain and primarily localizes to the mitochondrial intermembrane space. This localization is crucial as CHCHD4 plays a significant role in mitochondrial function and proper folding of small cysteine-containing proteins. CHCHD4 operates through a disulfide relay system that facilitates oxidation of precursor proteins, essential for correct folding within mitochondria. CHCHD4 is expressed in various tissues, with particularly high levels in kidney and liver, and exists as a homooligomer. CHCHD4 is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 3, which spans approximately 214 million bases and encodes over 1,100 genes, including those related to chemokine receptors and various cancer-related loci. Multiple alternatively spliced isoforms of CHCHD4 further highlight functional diversity and importance in cellular processes.
