I have tested this antibody in WB and IF. Works very well in both at 1:500. However, we are detecting two strong bands in WB around 55kDa. The second band is heavier and less abundant than the lighter band. What could this be? its too light to be dimer

Hi, Can I use Arc Antibody (C-7) HRP for ELISA to detect low abundant of Arc in mouse tissue? Do you have a protocol for this? Thank you.

Thank you for your question. We have not yet tested this Arc Antibody (C-7): sc-17839 for ELISA in cells or tissues. We do recommend and warranty the antibody for ELISA based on reactivity of the antibody in other applications, as well as for indirect ELISA against the antibody’s antigen. Unfortunately, we do not have a protocol for using the HRP conjugated Arc antibody in ELISA. We recommend searching online for ELISA protocols using HRP conjugated antibodies for detection in tissues.

Hi, I was wondering if this antibody has been tested for IHC in ferret brain. Thank you!

Thank you for your question. This antibody has not yet been tested in ferret and so that is not a recommended species at this time. It may work, but we can not warranty it for that use. We are still gathering data to show on our website. Check back for updates!

Can I use this antibody for immunostaining in HEK29 cells and would it be necessary to perform antigen retrieval?

Thank you for your question. This antibody has not yet been tested for IHC on paraffin tissue sections, so we can not recommend it for that use. It is recommended for IF and IHC on fresh frozen tissue samples. If you do want to try it on paraffin embedded tissues, i would highly recommend performing an antigen retrieval step.

Thank you for your question. The AC stands for "agarose conjugate" for immunoprecipitation. This mouse monoclonal, Arc (C-7): sc-17839 is available conjugated to agarose (sc-17839 AC), 500 µg/0.25 ml agarose in 1 ml.

Yes. We recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This antibody is currently available conjugated to HRP (sc-17839 HRP), phycoerythrin (sc-17839 PE), fluorescein (sc-17839 FITC), Alexa Fluor® 488 (sc-17839 AF488) or Alexa Fluor® 647 (sc-17839 AF647).
