    SEE ALSO...

α/β-centractin Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects α/β-centractin of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). α/β-centractin (A-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Centractin, a crucial component of the dynactin complex, plays a significant role in cellular processes such as organelle transport, mitosis, and maintaining cellular architecture. The dynactin complex, which consists of 10-11 distinct subunits, is essential for the proper functioning of dynein, a motor protein responsible for retrograde transport along microtubules. Centractin exists in two isoforms, α and β, with the α isoform, also known as actin-related protein 1 homolog A (Arp1), being the most prevalent. The β isoform, or actin-related protein 1 homolog B, shares a remarkable 90% sequence identity with the α isoform, and these two isoforms are expressed in a ratio of approximately 15:1. The structural integrity of the dynactin complex is vital, as this complex facilitates the arrangement and interaction of other proteins within the complex, thereby influencing various cellular functions.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with α/β-centractin (A-7): sc-376010 monoclonal antibody?

    Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
