    SEE ALSO...

TFIIA-α/β Antibody (708C4a) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects TFIIA-α/β of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). TFIIA-α/β (708C4a) antibody is available as a non-conjugated TFIIA-α/β monoclonal isotype antibody. TFIIA-α/β plays a crucial role in initiating transcription from protein-coding genes in eukaryotes, a process essential for gene expression and cellular function. TFIIA-α/β consists of three subunits: TFIIA-α, TFIIA-β, and TFIIA-γ, which work together to stabilize interaction between TATA-binding protein (TBP) and DNA at the TATA box. This stabilization facilitates preinitiation complex (PIC) formation, necessary for recruiting RNA polymerase II and other transcription factors. By binding directly to TBP and TATA box, TFIIA-α/β enhances transcriptional output of genes, making TFIIA-α/β a key player in gene expression regulation. TFIIA-α/β′s ability to modulate TATA binding element recognition by TBP underscores TFIIA-α/β′s importance in transcriptional machinery, influencing various cellular processes and responses.

I am using TFIIA-α/β (708C4a): sc-81398 antibody for immunoprecipitation, how much antibody should I use?

    Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1–10 µl (i.e., 0.2–2 µg) of antibody with 1 ml of cell lysate. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration.
