    SRCR Antibody (5F10) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects the SRCR protein of Geodia cydonium origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-SRCR antibody (5F10) is available as the non-conjugated format, specifically designed for research involving the Aggregation Factor, a crucial protein extensively studied in various sponge species, including Geodia cydonium. The Aggregation Factor plays a vital role in cellular adhesion and communication, which is essential for the structural integrity and functionality of sponge tissues. This protein is composed of multiple glycoproteins that form a complex structure around a 90S sunburst-like core, facilitating the bridging of two cells through the ligation of a cell-surface-bound Aggregation Receptor. The Aggregation Receptor, which contains scavenger receptor cysteine-rich (SRCR) domains, is integral to the interaction with cell surface integrins, thereby influencing the adhesive properties of cells. Understanding the function of the Aggregation Factor and its interactions is critical, as it provides insights into the evolutionary biology of multicellular organisms and the mechanisms underlying cell adhesion and tissue organization.
