Pirin Antibody (D-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects pirin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-pirin antibody (D-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Pirin protein, also known as iron-binding nuclear protein, plays a crucial role in transcriptional activation and apoptosis, making pirin significant for cellular regulation and survival. Pirin (D-10) antibody localizes within the nucleus, where pirin interacts with specific transcription factors, including NFI/CTF1 (nuclear factor I/CCAAT box transcription factor). This interaction positions pirin as a potential cofactor for NFI/CTF1, suggesting pirin may influence the activity of this transcription factor and thereby impact gene expression. Pirin mRNA expression is notably low across various human tissues, with higher levels observed in heart and skeletal muscle, indicating specialized functions in these tissues.
