SEE ALSO...

HB-EGF Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody designed to detect Heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor (HB-EGF), also known as HBEGF or the 87-amino acid EGF-like glycoprotein. Anti-HB-EGF antibody (E-10) targets the C-terminal epitope encompassing amino acids 121-208 of mature human HB-EGF, ensuring precise binding and reliable detection in western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HB-EGF is a critical member of the epidermal growth factor (EGF) family of mitogens, primarily localized on the cell membrane where HB-EGF interacts with the EGF receptor (EGFR) and heparin sulfate proteoglycans. This membrane localization is essential for HB-EGF′s role in regulating key cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and survival, as well as facilitating cell-to-cell communication. HB-EGF exists in both membrane-bound and soluble forms. The precursor form is anchored to the cell surface, while the mature soluble form is released through proteolytic cleavage, allowing HB-EGF to function in autocrine and paracrine signaling. This dual localization is vital for processes like wound healing, tissue regeneration, and embryonic development, and HB-EGF also plays a role in pathological conditions including cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Additionally, membrane-bound HB-EGF serves as the receptor for diphtheria toxin, highlighting HB-EGF′s significance in both normal physiology and disease mechanisms. The HB-EGF gene encodes a 208 amino acid precursor that is processed into an active 86 amino acid soluble protein, a transformation that can be induced by agents such as phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA). HB-EGF (E-10) monoclonal antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® variants, providing versatility for a wide range of experimental applications.
