CMV UL84 Antibody (Mab84) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the CMV UL84 protein of CMV origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-CMV UL84 antibody (Mab84) is available as a non-conjugated format. Cytomegalovirus (CMV), also known as human herpesvirus 5 (HHV-5), is a member of the herpes virus family, which includes other notable viruses such as herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2, Varicella Zoster Virus, and Epstein Barr virus. While CMV typically causes mild symptoms in healthy individuals, CMV can lead to severe complications in immunocompromised patients. CMV UL84 protein is a crucial regulatory factor with a nuclear localization that plays a significant role in the initiation of viral DNA synthesis and is essential for lytic DNA replication.
