カルバプロスタサイクリン-ビオチンアミドは、プロスタサイクリンの約1/10の受容体結合親和性を持つプロスタサイクリン（PGI2）の構造類似体である。1 プロスタグランジン受容体に対する比較的無差別なリガンドであり、TP受容体を除くすべての組換えヒトPG受容体に、天然リガンドのかなりの割合の親和性で結合する2 したがって、カルバプロスタサイクリン-ビオチンアミドは、多くの異なる受容体サブタイプの結合および精製に有用な親和性リガンドである。
