Aminopeptidase P Antibody (JG12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Aminopeptidase P protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-Aminopeptidase P antibody (JG12) is available as a non-conjugated format. Aminopeptidases, including Aminopeptidase P, play a crucial role in protein metabolism by catalyzing the removal of amino acids from the N-termini of proteins, which is essential for various physiological processes such as protein maturation and degradation. Aminopeptidase P (JG12) monoclonal antibody recognizes a member of the peptidase clan MG known for proline-specific activity, cleaving the N-terminal amino acid when the second residue is proline. Aminopeptidase P exists in two forms: a membrane-bound variant expressed on lymphoid cells, vascular endothelial cells in various tissues, and the brush-border membrane of kidney tubules and intestine, and a cytosolic form. The membrane-bound Aminopeptidase P is GPI-linked and consists of 674 amino acids, while the cytosolic form is 623 amino acids in length. Aminopeptidase P has been identified as a receptor for the breast-homing peptide, highlighting potential significance in developing targeted therapies for breast cancer.
