拡張スペーサーを組み込んだ光活性ヘテロ二官能性架橋試薬。通常、最初の反応はpH6.5～8.5の範囲でアミド結合形成によりエステルを介して一級アミンとカップリングする。 第二の結合はUV照射（250-350nm）中に反応性ニトレンを介して起こる。後者の結合は非特異的で急速である。 ニトロ置換基は、単純なアリールアジドと比較して、より長い波長の吸収帯を提供することに注意されたい。
