S-100A2 Antibody (SH-L1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects S-100A2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-S-100A2 antibody (SH-L1) is available as the non-conjugated format. S-100A2 protein, also known as S100 calcium binding protein A2, belongs to the S-100 protein family, characterized by calcium binding ability and involvement in various intracellular processes. S-100A2 protein is primarily found in the basal layer of the epidermis and hair follicles, playing a crucial role in skin homeostasis and cellular signaling. S-100A2 protein regulates cell motility, particularly in cancer, as expression is often lost during malignant transformation of epithelial cells, such as in breast cancer. Loss of S-100A2 expression may contribute to increased cell migration and metastasis, suggesting a tumor-suppressive role in certain tissues. Neoplastic gastric epithelial cells express S-100A2 alongside other S-100 family members, indicating relevance in cancer biology. S-100A2 protein interacts with Tropomyosin in a calcium-dependent manner, highlighting importance in cellular dynamics and potential therapeutic targeting in cancer treatment.
