Phocein Antibody (16E2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Phocein in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Phocein is a 225 amino acid protein encoded by the human gene MOBKL3 and is a member of the MOB1/phocein family, known for its role in cellular signaling and trafficking. This highly conserved intracellular protein is primarily associated with membranes but can also be found in the cytosol, where Phocein functions as part of a protein complex. Notably, Phocein interacts with striatin family members, which are scaffolding proteins crucial for various signaling pathways. Phosphorylation on serine residues and the presence of a putative SH3-binding domain suggest Phocein plays a significant role in mediating protein-protein interactions. Furthermore, Phocein′s direct interactions with Dynamin and nucleotide diphosphate kinase (NDPK) highlight Phocein′s involvement in vesicular trafficking, particularly in the endocytic process, making Phocein an important player in cellular dynamics and transport mechanisms.
