NUDC Antibody (JT-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects NUDC in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NUDC, also known as nuclear distribution gene C homolog, plays a crucial role in various cellular processes, including neurogenesis, mitosis, nuclear migration, and cytokinesis, making NUDC essential for proper cell division and function. NUDC is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm and nucleus, where NUDC is highly expressed in proliferating cells. The presence of a CS domain within NUDC is significant as this domain facilitates interaction with other proteins, particularly during the onset of mitosis when NUDC is phosphorylated by Polo-like kinase (Plk). This phosphorylation is vital for the formation of the mitotic spindle and the accurate separation of chromosomes, which are critical for successful cell division. Furthermore, NUDC forms a complex with LIS1, which is integral to the microtubule network and microtubule-organizing center, aiding in the movement and transport of the nucleus in migrating neurons. The interaction of the NUDC/LIS1 complex with the Dynein/Dynactin motor complex underscores NUDC′s importance in regulating cytokinesis, highlighting NUDC′s multifaceted roles in cellular dynamics and development.
