SEE ALSO...

IP3KB Antibody (J-15) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects IP3KB protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-IP3KB antibody (J-15) is available as a non-conjugated format. IP3KB protein plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by regulating intracellular calcium levels through action on inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (Ins(1,4,5)P3), which releases calcium from internal stores. This process is vital for various physiological functions, including muscle contraction, neurotransmitter release, and cell proliferation. The phosphorylation of Ins(1,4,5)P3 by inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate 3-kinase (IP3K) leads to the formation of inositol 1,3,4,5-tetrakisphosphate (Ins(1,4,5)P4), which is believed to further regulate calcium influx across the plasma membrane. IP3K exists in three isoforms—IP3KA, B, and C—with IP3KB being expressed in multiple rat tissues, including the lung, thymus, testis, brain, and heart. IP3K activity is enhanced in the presence of calmodulin and is modulated by phosphorylation through various kinases, thereby influencing the inositol phosphate signaling pathways that are essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to external stimuli.
