ACYP2 Antibody (G-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects acylphosphatase (AcP) in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ACYP2 antibody (G-5) plays a crucial role in studying protein misfolding and aggregation, particularly in amyloid fibril formation, which is linked to several neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer′s and Parkinson′s diseases. Acylphosphatase is primarily located in muscle cell cytoplasm, where AcP functions to hydrolyze acyl phosphate compounds, thereby regulating energy metabolism and cellular signaling pathways. Proper localization of AcP is essential for enzymatic activity and maintaining cellular homeostasis; disruption in function or localization can lead to pathological conditions. Additionally, AcP′s small size and simple structure, consisting of a five-stranded antiparallel beta-sheet and two parallel alpha-helices, make AcP an ideal model for studying protein aggregation mechanisms. Understanding AcP dynamics and interactions with other cellular proteins can provide valuable insights into protein deposition diseases and may inform therapeutic strategy development.
