SEE ALSO...

SCGN Antibody (F-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SCGN protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SCGN (F-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SCGN protein, also known as Secretagogin, CALBL, setagin, or SECRET, is a 276 amino acid cytoplasmic protein characterized by six EF-hand domains, which are critical for calcium binding and signaling. SCGN is predominantly expressed in tissues such as the stomach, thyroid, colon, brain, and neuroendocrine cells, where SCGN plays a significant role in regulating calcium homeostasis and cellular signaling pathways. SCGN′s ability to modulate calcium storage pools within cells is essential for function in cell proliferation and potassium chloride-mediated calcium flux events. Through influencing these processes, SCGN may serve as a negative regulator of growth and differentiation rates, thereby indirectly inhibiting cell replication. anti-SCGN antibody (F-9) serves as a valuable tool for researchers studying the intricate roles of calcium-binding proteins in various biological contexts.

Can SCGN (F-9): sc-374355 monoclonal antibody be used in fish tissues is there any such references regarding the SCGN can you supply a free sample of antibody to test it on fish species.

Asked by: Yashica
Thank you for your question. SCGN Antibody (F-9) is only recommended for detection of SCGN of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA. We do not have any data on its compatibility with cell or tissue samples from fish species. Please reach out to our technical service team directly to arrange for a free sample of this antibody.

I have a enquiry about secretagogin antibody available in santa cruz [SCGN (F-9): sc-374355]. I want to know if any control scgn peptide is supplied along with the antibody or if that is at all available and we can purchase that seperately.

Asked by: Sumela
Thank you for your question. This SCGN antibody was raised against amino acids 186-276 mapping at the C-terminus of SCGN of human origin. Since it was not raised against a peptide, there is no control peptide for it. I would suggest using a normal mouse IgG as a negative control.

Can SCGN (F-9): sc-374355 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. Yes, SCGN (F-9): sc-374355 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
