SAPS2 Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects SAPS2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SAPS2, also known as PP6R2, KIAA0685, or SAP190, is a 966 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role as a regulatory subunit of the protein phosphatase 6 (PP6) holoenzyme, which is essential for various cellular processes, including the regulation of cell signaling pathways and the degradation of IκB-ε, a key inhibitor of NF-κB signaling. Proper functioning of SAPS2 is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to stress signals, as dysregulation can lead to aberrant signaling and contribute to the development of various diseases. SAPS2 is expressed ubiquitously, with highest levels found in testis, heart, liver, brain, kidney, and placenta, indicating importance in multiple physiological processes. The gene encoding SAPS2 is located on human chromosome 22, a region associated with several genetic disorders, including Phelan-McDermid syndrome and neurofibromatosis type 2, highlighting significance in both health and disease.
