SEE ALSO...

PXR Antibody (G-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PXR protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PXR (G-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Pregnane X Receptor (PXR) plays a crucial role in regulating drug metabolism and transport, acting as a key sensor for xenobiotics and endogenous compounds. Located primarily in the nucleus, PXR functions as a transcription factor that, upon activation by ligands such as steroids and certain pharmaceuticals, regulates the expression of genes involved in the metabolism of drugs and toxins. This regulation is vital for maintaining homeostasis and protecting the body from potentially harmful substances. PXR′s ability to form heterodimers with retinoid X receptor (RXR) allows binding to specific DNA sequences, thereby influencing the transcription of target genes. Notably, PXR exists in two isoforms, PXR.1 and PXR.2, which may have distinct regulatory roles, further emphasizing the complexity of cellular signaling pathways. Understanding PXR mechanisms is essential for developing therapeutic strategies that target drug interactions and enhance the efficacy of pharmacological treatments.
