Phenolphthalein monophosphate, bis(cyclohexylammonium) salt is a substrate for alkaline phosphatase, which acts as an indicator in various titrations and enzyme immunoassays. In addition, Phenolphthalein monophosphate, bis(cyclohexylammonium) salt can be indirectly used to label hormones via tagging the hormones with different enzymes such as alkaline phosphatase which will react with Phenolphthalein monophosphate, bis(cyclohexylammonium) salt. Alternate studies show that Phenolphthalein monophosphate, bis(cyclohexylammonium) salt can enhance bioautography with Trichomonas vaginalis. Another study indicates that Phenolphthalein monophosphate, bis(cyclohexylammonium) salt can distinguish between various acid phosphatase isoenzymes.
