The Western blot data shown on the product datasheet for this primary antibody, Insulin (H-86): sc-9168, is against a human recombinant fusion protein corresponding to amino acids 22-110 of human insulin. This recombinant protein was developed by Santa Cruz Biotechnology.

Thank you for your question. It can be very difficult to detect endogenous insulin protein in cell lysates so we recommend you review the literature for recommended protocols. This antibody, sc-9168: Insulin (H-68), has been cited in the literature for use in Western blot many times and you can find those product citations on our website. The expected molecular weight, under reducing conditions is ~ 12 kDa for the unprocessed protein. The insulin A and B chains are both predicted to be ~24 kDa.
