HHV-6 Antibody (20) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects HHV-6 in human herpes virus type 6 by immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-HHV-6 antibody (20) recognizes two closely related variants, HHV-6A and HHV-6B, known for causing various febrile illnesses and childhood disease exanthem subitum. HHV-6 persists and establishes latency in various tissues, including monocytes/macrophages, salivary glands, brain, and kidney, leading to reactivation and contributing to demyelinating diseases such as progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy and multiple sclerosis. HHV-6 DNA in serum samples of multiple sclerosis patients serves as a crucial marker for active viral infection, highlighting HHV-6′s role in viral latency and neurological disorders. HHV-6 monoclonal antibody (20) enables reliable detection for various applications in virology and immunology research.
