HARE Antibody (B-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects HARE protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-HARE antibody (B-2) is available as the non-conjugated form. HARE protein, also known as stabilin-2, plays a crucial role in endocytic clearance of hyaluronan (HA) and chondroitin sulfate from lymph fluid and blood, which is vital for maintaining tissue homeostasis and regulating extracellular matrix turnover. HARE protein is predominantly expressed in endothelial sinuses of liver, lymph nodes, spleen, and bone marrow, as well as in specialized structures of eye, heart, brain, and kidney. Notably, human and rat HARE each possess two isoforms, which may have distinct functional roles in tissue integrity and fluid resorption. HARE′s ability to effectively scavenge hyaluronan highlights its importance in fluid balance and extracellular matrix dynamics, as studies have shown that liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs) exhibit a clear scavenging profile for stabilin-2, unlike stabilin-1. This specificity underscores HARE′s potential as a target for therapeutic interventions aimed at modulating extracellular matrix composition and fluid dynamics in various pathological conditions.
