CD4 Antibody (OX68) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody designed to recognize CD4, also known as T4 or Leu3, across mouse, rat, and human species. Raised against purified CD4 of rat origin, anti-CD4 antibody (OX68) targets domains 3 and 4 of the CD4 molecule and is recommended for use in immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM) applications. CD4 is a membrane-bound glycoprotein expressed primarily on T helper cells, as well as on cortical cells, mature medullary thymocytes, microglial cells, and dendritic cells. Structurally, CD4 contains four extracellular immunoglobulin-like domains essential for interaction with class II major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules on antigen-presenting cells, thereby enhancing the binding affinity of the T cell receptor (TCR) and facilitating effective T cell activation.
