v-SNARE Ykt6p Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects v-SNARE Ykt6p of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-v-SNARE Ykt6p antibody (E-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. v-SNARE Ykt6p plays a crucial role in membrane trafficking within eukaryotic cells, facilitating the fusion of transport vesicles with their target membranes. This process is essential for the proper distribution of proteins and lipids throughout the cell, impacting various cellular functions such as secretion, nutrient uptake, and organelle maintenance. The interaction of v-SNAREs like v-SNARE Ykt6p with specific t-SNAREs ensures that vesicles reach their correct destinations, thereby maintaining cellular organization and function. Membrane interaction of v-SNARE Ykt6p is mediated by a unique cysteine/aliphatic/aliphatic/methionine or histidine (CAAX) C-terminal motif, which is critical for prenylation and subsequent membrane anchoring. v-SNARE Ykt6p interacts with t-SNARE Pep12p during Golgi prevacuolar transport and with cis-Golgi t-SNARE Sed5p, highlighting an integral role in the intricate network of intracellular trafficking.
