SEE ALSO...

Trichohyalin Antibody (AE15) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Trichohyalin of mouse, rat, and human origin by immunofluorescence (IF) and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-Trichohyalin antibody (AE15) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Trichohyalin is a crucial structural protein predominantly found in the medulla and inner root sheath of hair follicles, where Trichohyalin plays a vital role in the formation and organization of the cornified cell envelope. This structural protein is characterized by a nine-domain structure, which includes two EF-hand calcium-binding motifs essential for cellular processes. As a member of the S100-fused protein family, Trichohyalin is involved in regulating keratin intermediate filaments and interacts with peripheral cell envelope barrier proteins, contributing to hair follicle structure integrity and resilience. Trichohyalin′s ability to undergo post-translational modifications, such as cross-linking by transglutaminase and deamination by peptidylarginine deaminase, enhances functional diversity and importance in skin and hair biology.
