TCP-1 δ Antibody (H-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TCP-1 delta protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TCP-1 δ (H-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TCP-1, also known as t complex polypeptide 1, is a crucial subunit of the chaperonin containing TCP-1 (CCT) complex, which is essential for proper folding of cytosolic proteins, particularly actins and tubulins. Located in the eukaryotic cytosol, CCT complex comprises eight distinct subunits, each encoded by different genes, and maintains cellular function and integrity. TCP-1′s role in protein folding is particularly important, as misfolded proteins can lead to cellular dysfunction and various diseases. TCP-1 was initially identified in mice, where studies linked TCP-1 to tail-less and embryonic lethal phenotypes, and homologous sequences appear in several other species, highlighting evolutionary significance. Studies of TCP-1 in yeast demonstrate molecular chaperone activity for actin and tubulin, underscoring TCP-1′s critical role in cellular processes across different organisms.
