SEE ALSO...

Rtn-1A Antibody (Mon 160) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Rtn-1A protein of mouse, rat, human, and hamster origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). anti-Rtn-1A antibody (Mon 160) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Rtn-1A, a member of the Reticulon family, plays a crucial role in the structure and function of the endoplasmic reticulum, where Rtn-1A is anchored through its C-terminal region. Rtn-1A is essential for maintaining the morphology of the endoplasmic reticulum and is involved in processes such as neuroendocrine secretion and membrane trafficking. The gene encoding Rtn-1 is located on human chromosome 14q23.1 and is expressed as three isoforms—Rtn-1A, Rtn-1B, and Rtn-1C—through alternative splicing. Notably, Rtn-1A serves as a reliable marker for neuroendocrine differentiation in lung cancer, as Rtn-1A is expressed in most small cell lung carcinoma and carcinoid tumors, making Rtn-1A a valuable tool for diagnostic purposes. Additionally, Rtn-1B exists in multiple forms, while Rtn-1C expression is strongly correlated with neuronal differentiation, highlighting the diverse roles of these proteins in cellular functions and their potential implications in cancer biology.
