FARP2 Antibody (H-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects FARP2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FARP2 (H-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FARP2, also known as PLEKHC3 or FIR (FERM domain including RhoGEF), is a 1,545 amino acid protein characterized by the presence of one FERM domain, one DH domain, and two PH domains, and exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms. FARP2 is predominantly expressed in the brain, lung, and testis, as well as in embryonic hippocampal and cortical neurons, where FARP2 plays a crucial role as a Rho-guanine nucleotide exchange factor that activates RAC1. RAC1 activation by FARP2 is vital for the regulation of neurite remodeling in embryonic neurons, a process essential for proper neuronal development and connectivity. Notably, the binding of Sema3A to neuropilin-1 triggers FARP2 dissociation from plexin-A1, thereby activating Rac GEF activity, which is critical for the repulsion of outgrowing axons and the suppression of neuronal adhesion. Furthermore, downregulation of FARP2 has been associated with autism, highlighting FARP2′s importance in neurodevelopmental processes.
