EMID1 Antibody (D-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects EMID1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-EMID1 antibody (D-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. EMID1, also known as EMI domain containing 1, is a 441 amino acid secreted protein characterized by the presence of one collagen-like domain and one EMI domain, which is notable for containing seven conserved cysteines that may facilitate dimerization. This structural feature is crucial as it suggests a potential role in protein-protein interactions, which can influence various cellular processes, including signaling pathways and extracellular matrix organization. EMID1 gene, located on human chromosome 22q12.2, spans 54 kb and consists of 15 exons, giving rise to three alternatively spliced isoforms. Conservation of EMID1 gene across multiple species, including chimpanzee, dog, cow, mouse, rat, chicken, and zebrafish, highlights its evolutionary significance. Chromosome 22, being the second smallest human chromosome, harbors over 500 genes and is associated with several genetic disorders, including Phelan-McDermid syndrome, Neurofibromatosis type 2, and autism, as well as a susceptibility locus for schizophrenia. Study of EMID1 and its interactions is essential for understanding its role in these conditions and the broader implications for human health.
