Sotalol hydrochloride is a compound categorized with class III antiarrhythmic activity with a mechanism of action that prolongs the action potential and refraction of cardiac tissue through non-selective yet potent β-adronergic blocking activity. Sotalol hydrochloride is also considered a non-selective β blocker and a potassium channel blocker with an IC50 of 43 µM.
