SEE ALSO...

NPR Antibody (B-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NPR protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-NPR antibody (B-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NPR protein plays a crucial role in the neuronal uptake pathway, particularly during synapse formation and remodeling, by mediating the uptake of synaptic materials, including presynaptic toxins. NPR belongs to the long pentraxin family, which is highly conserved and predominantly expressed in the brain and central nervous system, forming multimeric complexes essential for neuronal function. NPR is located on the cell membrane and can interact with neuronal pentraxin 1 and 2, forming heteropentameric complexes that are released from the membrane through proteolytic processes. NP1 gene, which is involved in this pathway, is situated on chromosome 17q25.1-q25.2, while NP2 is located on chromosome 7q21.3-122.1 and contains several potential N-linked glycosylation sites, although its specific function remains unknown. NPR′s ability to form these complexes and role in synaptic material uptake highlight its importance in maintaining synaptic integrity and facilitating communication between neurons.
