GATA-1 Antibody (N6) is a high quality monoclonal GATA-1 antibody (also designated GATA1 antibody or GATA binding protein 1 antibody) suitable for the detection of the GATA-1 protein of mouse, rat and human origin. GATA-1 Antibody (N6) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-GATA-1 antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-GATA-1 antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Members of the GATA family share a conserved zinc finger DNA-binding domain and are capable of binding the WGATAR consensus sequence. GATA-1 is erythroid-specific and is responsible for the regulated transcription of erythroid genes. It is an essential component in the generation of the erythroid lineage. GATA-2 is expressed in embryonic brain and liver, HeLa and endothelial cells, as well as in erythroid cells. Studies with a modified GATA consensus sequence, AGATCTTA, have shown that GATA-2 and GATA-3 recognize this mutated consensus while GATA-1 has poor recognition of this sequence. This indicates broader regulatory capabilities of GATA-2 and GATA-3 than GATA-1. GATA-3 is highly expressed in T lymphocytes. GATA-4, GATA-5 and GATA-6 comprise a subfamily of transcription factors. Both GATA-4 and GATA-6 are found in heart, pancreas and ovary; lung and liver tissues exhibit GATA-6, but not GATA-4 expression. GATA-5 expression has been observed in differentiated heart and gut tissues and is present throughout the course of development in the heart. Although expression patterns of the various GATA transcription factors may overlap, it is not yet apparent how the GATA factors are able to discriminate in binding their appropriate target sites.

Monoclonal antibodies for mammalian and non-mammalian protein targets represent essentially all targets covered by polyclonal antibodies. Over 8,300 of our antibodies are offered as ImmunoCruz® conjugates which eliminates the need for a secondary antibody. Santa Cruz Biotechnology antibodies have over 360,000 research citations. Anti-GATA-1 Antibody (N6) has 297 citations in a variety of scientific publications. Primary antibodies like Anti-GATA-1 Antibody (N6) for mammalian target proteins are recommended for the detection of a range of mammalian species, primarily of mouse, rat and human species. Many mammalian antibodies are also ideal for veterinary research and reactive with ovine, porcine, caprine, feline, canine, bovine and equine protein targets. Santa Cruz Biotechnology primary monoclonal antibodies are suitable for laboratory research applications and are not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use.

Nuclear extracts are ideal for western blot analysis or gel shift assays positive controls. Phospho-enriched whole cell lysates and tissue extracts are available for phospho-specific antibody positive controls. Monoclonal secondary antibodies are offered in various conjugated forms, including: Biotin (B), CruzFluor™ 790, 680, 647, 594, 555, and 488, FITC, HRP, PerCP, PerCP-Cy5.5, Texas Red (TR), and TRITC (tetramethyl rhodamine isothiocyanate) (R), for research applications like Flow Cytometry (FCM), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining and Western Blotting (WB). Not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use. Affinity purified immunoglobulins (IgGs)—conjugated and unconjugated—are available as negative controls for flow cytometry (FCM), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunoprecipitation (IP) and Western Blotting (WB) applications. Normal sera for immunohistochemistry (IHC) applications are available as neat serum for blocking reagents. The serum which is used should match the species of the secondary antibody.
