Anti-connexin 31.1 Antibody (H-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgM (kappa light chain) connexin 31.1 antibody provided at 200 µg/ml
specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 251-266 within a C-terminal cytoplasmic domain of connexin 31.1 of human origin
recommended for detection of connexin 31.1 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
Contact our Technical Service Department (or your local Distributor) for more information on how to receive a FREE 10 µg sample of connexin 31.1 (H-9): sc-515690.
m-IgGκ BP-HRP (mouse IgGκ binding protein-HRP) is the preferred detection reagent for connexin 31.1 Antibody (H-9) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with connexin 31.1 Antibody (H-9) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

connexin 31.1 Antibody (H-9) is a high quality monoclonal connexin 31.1 antibody (also designated GJB5 antibody, gap junction protein beta 5 antibody, or CX31.1 antibody) suitable for the detection of the connexin 31.1 protein of mouse, rat and human origin. connexin 31.1 Antibody (H-9) is available as the non-conjugated anti-connexin 31.1 antibody. The connexin family of proteins form hexameric complexes, called connexons, that facilitate movement of low molecular weight proteins between cells via gap junctions. Connexin proteins share a common topology of four transmembrane α-helical domains, two extracellular loops, a cytoplasmic loop and cytoplasmic N- and C-termini. Many of the key functional differences arise from specific amino acid substitutions in the most highly conserved domains; the transmembrane and extracellular regions. Connexin 31.1, Cx31.1 or Gap junction beta-5 protein, is a 271 amino acid protein that is predominantly expressed in skin with lower expression in testis. Expression of connexin 31.1 is required for normal placental development in mice. Down-regulation of the connexin 31.1 gene correlates with head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCC) and therefore it may be a potential therapeutic target.
