α-actinin Antibody (H-2) is an IgG1 κ mouse monoclonal alpha-actinin antibody (also designated ACTN1 antibody, Actinin 1 antibody, Alpha actinin 1 antibody or Cytoskeletal Alpha-actinin antibody) that detects the alpha-actinin protein of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA. α-actinin Antibody (H-2) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-alpha-actinin antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-alpha-actinin antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The spectrin gene family encodes a diverse group of cytoskeletal proteins that include spectrins, dystrophins and α-actinins. There are four tissue-specific α-actinins, namely α-actinin-1, α-actinin-2, α-actinin-3 and α-actinin-4, which are localized to muscle and non-muscle cells, including skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscle cells, as well as within the cytoskeleton. Each α-actinin protein contains one Actin-binding domain, two calponin-homology domains, two EF-hand domains and four spectrin repeats, through which they function as bundling proteins that can cross-link F-Actin, thus anchoring Actin to a variety of intracellular structures. Defects in the gene encoding α-actinin-4 are the cause of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis 1 (FSGS1), a common renal lesion characterized by decreasing kidney function and, ultimately, renal failure.

Monoclonal antibodies for mammalian and non-mammalian protein targets represent essentially all targets covered by polyclonal antibodies. Over 8,300 of our antibodies are offered as ImmunoCruz® conjugates which eliminates the need for a secondary antibody.
Santa Cruz Biotechnology antibodies have over 360,000 research citations. Anti-α-actinin Antibody (H-2) has 176 citations in a variety of scientific publications.
Primary antibodies like Anti-α-actinin Antibody (H-2) for mammalian target proteins are recommended for the detection of a range of mammalian species, primarily of mouse, rat and human species. Many mammalian antibodies are also ideal for veterinary research and reactive with ovine, porcine, caprine, feline, canine, bovine and equine protein targets. Santa Cruz Biotechnology primary monoclonal antibodies are suitable for laboratory research applications and are not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
