Sodium DL-lactate solution is a mixture of isomers qualified for use in mouse embryo culture. Lactate regulates pyruvate uptake and metabolism in the preimplantation mouse embryo.
Lactic acid is an α hydroxyl carboxylic acid produced from pyruvate by the enzyme lactate dehydrogenase (LDH). Lactate is one of the main components of Ringer's lactate or lactated Ringer's solution.
Component of Ringer's solution Lactated Ringer's solution The standard lactated Ringer's solution contains racemic lactate, an equal mixture of the D- and L-stereoisomers.
