Hello, is sc-29528 reagent appropriate for transfection of MDA-MB-231 cell line ?? Thanks

Asked by: IBTEHAL
Thank you for the question. We have reports for the successful use of this transfection reagent in many different cell lines. For example this citation in the Journal Nature with PMID 18322525 seems to refer to the use of sc-29528 for the transfection of MDA-MB-231 cells. We currently list more than 300 product citations.

can I use eurofins genomics transfection reagent for santa cruz siRNA in MCF-7 cell line

Asked by: keivan ramezan mobini
Thank you for your question. This is not something we have tried as we use our own transfection reagent, but if it is a standard reagent for transfection, it should be fine. If you have any further questions, please contact our European Technical Service team. You can reach them by phone at Toll Free: +49 6221 4503 0, by email at: europe@scbt.com or by live chat directly on our website, www.scbt.com

whether this transfection reagent will suitable for neonatal rat cardiomyocyte ?

Asked by: Sanket
Thank you for your question. This transfection reagent should be fine for rat cardiomyocytes, but if you are working on primary cells, I would suggest an alternate method (such as viral delivery). With all transfection reagents there is always a risk of cytotoxicity, so we would suggest testing on a sample of your cells first. If you have any further questions, please contact Technical Service by phone, (800)-457-3801 option 2, email <scbt@scbt.com>, or by live chat directly on our website, www.scbt.com.

Will it be applicable for primary melanocyte culture for silencing?

Asked by: niharika
Thank you for your question. You can try to use the transfection reagent on your primary cells, although I would be concerned about cytotoxicity. A better option for primary cells would be to use a viral approach, such as lentiviral shRNA. If you have any further questions, please contact our Asia Technical Service team. Is Reagent: sc-29528 appropriate for transfection of primary B-CLL cells?

Asked by: ammmm
Thank you for your question. We have not tested the transfection efficiency of our siRNA Transfection Reagent: sc-29528 with primary B-CLL cells. We would recommend using fluorescently conjugated Control siRNA (FITC Conjugate): sc-36869 to measure transfection efficiency in your cell line prior to use for siRNA transfection.

Is sc-29528 appropriate for the Human gall bladder cancer Cells and hepg2 cells? Thank you

Asked by: pratibhapandey
Thank you for your question. Yes, siRNA Transfection Reagent: sc-29528, is suitable for transfection of HepG2 cells. For example, please refer to product citations listed on PubMed with PMID numbers: 20074681 and 20460749. We do not have any information specifically about human gall gladder cancer cells. We would recommend using our Control siRNA (FITC Conjugate) in conjugation with this transfection reagent to verify transfection efficiency of this cell line. https://www.scbt.com/scbt/product/control-sirna-fitc-conjugate-a

Is sc-29528 appropriate for the Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells?  Thank you

Asked by: nlinn
Thank you for your question. This product, siRNA Transfection Reagent: sc-29528, is a lipid-based transfection reagent that is suitable for use in a variety of cell lines including HeLa, A549, Jurkat and NIH/3T3. We have not performed transfections in our labs with HUVEC (Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells), however this transfection reagent would be suitable to use on that cell line. We are unable to provide a specific transfection protocol for HUVEC at this time, and it is known to be a difficult to transfect cell line. We recommend using our FITC-conjugated control siRNA: sc-36869 as one way to measure transfection efficiency of your cell line with this transfection reagent. We also recommend consulting the literature for cell line specific recommendations, for example, the following publication on NCBI PubMed. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2902142/
