(S)-3,5-DHPG is a selective group I mGlu receptor agonist. mGluR (Metabotropic glutamate receptors) are divided into three groups, group I, group II, and group III. Group I (mGluR-1 and mGluR-5) receptors are coupled to Gq/11 and are activators of phospholipase C.
