Polymyxin B Sulfate is a mixture of Polymyxin B1 and Polymyxin B2 Sulfate, obtained from Bacillus polymyxia strains. Polymyxin B inhibits gram-negative organisms in vitro and is also reported to inhibit Ca2+ dependent PKC (protein kinase C).
