Datasheets
    • mouse IgG kappa binding protein (m-IgGκ BP) conjugated to biotin (B)
    • supplied at 200 µg in 0.5 ml volume
    • Strongly recommended alternative to conventional anti-mouse IgG secondary antibodies for Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
    • Suitable for binding to mouse IgGκ light chain immunoglobulins, comprising approximately 98% of mouse monoclonal antibodies; not suitable for use with mouse monoclonal IgGλ light chain antibodies
    • Highly specific reagent that provides strong signal with minimal background and virtually complete elimination of lot to lot variation associated with conventionally generated secondary antibodies
    • If you have an interest in testing a 10 µg sample of m-IgGκ BP-B (sc-516142), our highly recommended recombinant alternative to conventional secondary anti-mouse IgG Biotin (B) reagents, please contact our Technical Service Department (or your local Distributor) for more information.

Can we use normal goat serum as a blocking solution for immunohistochemistry when primary antibody is choactase (E-7): sc-55557, the secondary antibody is m-IgGκ BP-B: sc-516142 for rat brain free-floating sections?

Asked by: Sonali23
Thank you for your question. Yes, you can use normal goat serum for blocking for IHC experiments.

Can this be used for ELISAs?

Asked by: Joyous
Thank you for your question. We have not tested this biotin-conjugated mouse IgG binding protein in an ELISA application so it is not a recommended application at this time. However, if you have a successful protocol using anti-mouse IgG conjugated to biotin then this product should also perform well in that protocol as it is comparable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Secondary Antibody for Santa Cruz antibodies Great Secondary Antibody for Santa Cruz antibodies. However, I find it's difficult to strip off this protein from the membrane for reblotting. What do you recommend?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Detect the light chain of IgG in CO-IP products The antibody works good when diluted at 1:2000, and in Co-IP product, only light chain of IgG can be detected, which decreases the background signals.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from quite specific silver staining indicates m-BP-B is also an antibody that won't catch much protein from HEK293T whole cell lysate

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad features We used the antibody of your company a few months ago, but the result is very bad, we adjusted the experimental conditions and the proportion of the antibody, the results did not improve (pictures below), so we'd like to apply for a sample antibody , hope to be able to get your approval.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from worked well I have used this antibody for the immunohistochemistry using the fixed brain sections, 1:500 dilution worked really well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent specificity and signal amplification I am adding here pictures of AhR IHC on FFPE human colitis sections using as primary Ab the Ah Receptor (A-3) sc-133088, and as secondary m-IgGκ BP-B (sc-516142). I am satisfied with the staining which seems to be specific according to location, morphology and staining pattern of the cells. The isotype control shows that the there is no non-specific binding of the secondary Ab m-IgGκ BP-B (sc-516142).
