Herbimycin A, a benzoquinoid ansamycin antibiotic, is produced by the actinomycetes organism Streptomyces hygroscopicus and has antiparasite and antineoplastic properties. Herbimycin A irreversibly and selectively inhibits tyrosine kinases by reacting with thiol groups. Herbimycin A inhibits c-Abl, HSP 90, c-Src, c-Yes (Yes), Fes (Fps), Ros, and EGFR (ErbB) oncogene products and inhibits thrombin-induced tyrosine phosphorylation of phospholipase C. Herbimycin A also inhibits platelet derived growth factor induced phospholipase D activation. Herbimycin A is an angiogenesis inhibitor and has potent herbicidal activity against most mono- and di-cotyledenous plants, especially against Cyperus microiria STEUD. Oryza sativa shows strong resistance to herbimycin.

hi, i bought the inhibitor of Herbimycin A (CAS 70563-58-5) , but i am not sure how much volum of DMSO should i use to disolve 100µg Herbimycin. Do you have a recommendation?

Herbimycin A (CAS 70563-58-5) sc-3516 can be dissolved in DMSO with a concentration of up to 7.5 mg/ml. If you are having trouble dissolving Herbimycin A try gently heating the solvent and stir continuously.
