CTPB, an amide derivative also known as N-(4-chloro-3-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-2-ethoxy-6-pentadecyl-benzamide, is an activator of p300 histone acetyltransferase (HAT) activity. HATs are groups of enzymes that play a important role in regulation of gene expression. This compound has been shown to enhance p300 HAT-dependent transcriptional activation in in vitro assembled chromatin templates. CTPB is membrane-impermeable and requires a carrier to enter cells.
