Can it be used for detecting exosome from mouse serum?

Asked by: Karen Z
Thank you for your question. This mouse monoclonal antibody, CD9 (C-4): sc-13118, is recommended for detection of CD9 of mouse, rat and human origin. We do not have any information about expression of CD9 in exosomes.

Can I use this antibody as a capture antibody for ELISA. Also, can it bind to protein A coated plate.

Asked by: Pooja Dua
Thank you for your question. This antibody has not been tested for sandwich ELISA, but we would expect it to be fine for that use. It should be able to be coated onto a protein A coated plate without a problem. If you have any further questions, please contact our Asia Technical Service team. You can reach them by phone at (86 21) 6093-6350, by email at: asia@scbio.cn or by live chat directly on our website, www.scbt.com

I would like to know if the example western blots that you show for this product (CD9 antibody, sc-13118) were performed under reducing or non-reducing conditions (presence or absence of β-mercaptoethanol in the sample buffer). Thank you in advance!

Asked by: Dasa
Thank you for your question. We use reducing conditions for all our Western blots in house, so these data images are all reducing conditions. Here is a link to the Electrophoresis Sample Buffer we use: sc-24945. Please don't hesitate to contact Technical Support if you have any further questions!

Can I use this mouse monoclonal antibody for immunohistochemical staining of mouse tissue?

Asked by: jerojero
Yes. We recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This mouse monoclonal antibody CD9 is currently available conjugated to HRP (sc-13118 HRP), 200 µg/ml, for WB, IHC(P) and ELISA; and to either phycoerythrin (sc-13118 PE) or fluoroscein (sc-13118 FITC), Alexa Fluor® 488 (sc-13118 AF488) or Alexa Fluor® 647 (sc-13118 AF647), 200 µg/ml, for IF, IHC(P) and FCM

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pas de résultats J'ai testé cet anticorps sur des extrait cellulaire et n'ai obtenu aucun résultat. Je tente de faire des ajustements dans le protocole mais pour l'instant pas très concluant

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works for Western blotting of CD9 in MCF7 I tried a sample of this antibody for a western blot on MCF7 total cell lysates and exosomal purifications, at a:1000 dilution in TBST-5%milk. Both gave a clear and unique signal with ECL (but best with Femto reagent - Pierce, as seen on picture)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, highly recommended. It was the first time that I tried this antibody, and it works great for my ICC staining. Please see the attached confocal image. I used 1:50 dilution this time, the signal is not very strong but staining pattern is exactly I expected, which shows that the majority of CD9 is located on the cell membrane. I will try 1:25 dilution next time to see whether it can make it even better. I feel the overall quality of SCBT antibodies has been improved quite a lot, and the price is very competitive compared to many other vendors because the supplied volume is efficient for multiple experiments. Only one concern is that SCBT discontinued almost all polyclonal antibodies, which means I only can get those polyclonal antibodies from other suppliers if I need to do co-staining with 2-3 antibodies.
