what is the secondary antibody dilution?

Thank you for your inquiry. The dilution to use for the secondary depends on which secondary reagent you are working with, and for what application you are using it for. Generally, we say to do a titration to find the optimal conditions, but since this is a very strong primary antibody, I would recommend starting the anti-mouse secondary at 1:2000, and optimizing further from that point, depending on results. Can I use this mouse monoclonal antibody for immunohistochemical staining of mouse tissue?

I am using sc-47778 , but i am getting many bands at different M.W., what can the problem be ?

Thank you for your question. That is a very surprising result, as this is one of our most popular loading control antibodies against Beta Actin. Non-specific binding can result from different variables and there are a lot of different options for troubleshooting. We recommend blocking and diluting your primary and secondary antibodies in 5% nonfat milk + TBST. We also recommend using an appropriate secondary antibody from SCBT, and including a secondary control (incubated without primary antibody) to try and identify if the non-specific bands are due to your secondary antibody alone.
