Avarol is a cytostatic agent which has potent antileukemic activity in vitro and. Avarol also displays antibacterial and antifungal activities against a limited range of microorganisms. Inhibits HIV-1 reverse transcriptase. Avarol is an inhibitor of Cox, group II sPLA2 and LO.
