Ammonium tartrate dibasic may be used in biological applications as a nitrogen source. In the evaluation of laccase production, ammonium tartrate was used to study the effects of nitrogen on the production of laccase by fungi. Also used as a nitrogen source in cell culture media formulated to best support the formation of stromata with ascocarps.
